"Contact with the owners was brilliant before hand. From the moment we arrived it was a real home from home feel. Lovely and cosy, clean and well maintained as well as well stocked for everything in the kitchen. We felt at home straight away and a welcome bottle of wine was a really great touch. The cottage is well situated to be out of the hustle and bustle of the town but less than 10 minutes walk to town where you have access to unlimited restaurants, cafes and pubs. I recommend Jackson's, bodega and hyltons to name a few and for an excellent Indian go to shahibs. Great walks from the cottage and great for lake access and the car ferry to the other side of the lake. Pop on a boat to Ambleside and a small journey to wray castle and walk back to the foot ferry which is just over 4 Mile. A very easy walk accessible for pushchairs too. We even did a 9 mile walk from the cottage to lakeside. Amazing views and countryside. The sofas were very comfy and so were the beds, all you need for a good base for walking. We have had the most relaxing week here, just what we needed before our pending wedding. We never turned the TV on and played games which were in the cottage... great selection. We are already talking about our next visit as we genuinely didn't want to leave. Thank you xx"

"This was an ideal place to stay for my husband and I and my friend and her husband. The location of it was close enough for us to walk into Bowness each evening for our evening meals. Access to all places around the South Lakes was relatively easy. The Cottage itself was comfortable although the bedrooms were a bit small. We chose the property because it had a bathroom and a shower room with 2 toilets and there was ample parking available for 2 cars which were our requirements."
