Fenny Bentley is an attractive village in Derbyshire, 2 miles from Ashbourne. The pub and church remain the heart of the village. The Coach & Horses is a welcoming inn with real ales, and the church retains some interesting old features. Ashbourne was once a social centre in the 18th century, and retains some fine Georgian buildings and a selection of restaurants and interesting shops. The Dove and Manifold valleys are close by with excellent walking and cycling opportunities, whilst Alton Towers is just a short drive away.
Reviews
"We stayed here for the May Day Bank Holiday weekend. From the moment we arrived it was complete relaxation. The cottage is perfect for 2 and although on a busy road, it hardly mattered. The views from the garden were amazing - out over the hills and beyond. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a home from home. Lovely open fire for a cosy Friday evening in and well located for the friendly pub just a short stroll away. The cottage was great for walks from the door, Chatsworth, cycle riding along the Tissington Trail and many more activities. We even visited the local plant nursery to pick up some plants for our garden. Even here they were so friendly and helpful. It was a great escape for a few days of rest and we'd love to return soon."
