Friston is a quiet Suffolk village situated close to the coast. Within reach are the attractive popular coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, with a choice of pubs, restaurants, independent shops, galleries and tea rooms, and two miles from Friston is the well-known Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

"We (2 adults) stayed here for a week for a spring break choosing this location for its proximity to the nature reserves nearby. The cottage was well appointed, clean, cosy and met all our needs. We were glad to be able to store our bicycles in the shed within the secure back garden and we were able to reach all nearby reserves by a short cycle ride. The garden furniture would have enabled al fresco dining if the weather had been warmer. The village pub at the end of the road was good and very friendly, making us so welcome. Nearby nature sites we enjoyed included: Minsmere, North Warren, Dingle Marshes and Snape. The National Trust site at Sutton Hoo was a short drive away and provided an interesting day out. Our car (Octavia) just fit into the off road car port. Anyone with a larger car or more than one car might want to check parking arrangements before booking."
