The pretty, ever-popular village of Reeth rests at the northern tip of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where Arkengarthdale and Swaledale meet, nestled between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge and Harkerside. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with lovely rolling hills and spectacular views, Reeth boasts a colourful history as it was originally a Saxon settlement, and has also been known as a lead mining town and a centre for hand knitting throughout its time. Both trades are proudly featured in the Swaledale Museum, located alongside a good range of shops, tea rooms and restaurants.
Reviews
"My husband doesn't like self catering...well didn't! After staying at this cottage with two other couples, he is converted; at least to this place. We have been visiting and staying in The Yorkshire Dales for nearly 50 years but this is the first time we have stayed in Reeth and our friends had never even visited there before. We all had a wonderful time due in great part to the quality of the accommodation. The descriptions and photos are not truly accurate as they give no evidence of the generosity of the owners. Non of the couples had ever stayed in a cottage that was as well stocked with extras to make your stay more comfortable. It is well placed for shops, inns and walking routes and short drives get you to many other towns and villages. We hope to return. Very soon!"
