With so much historic and cultural importance in North Wales, Caernarfon, the county town of Gwynedd, is a popular tourist spot. With an impressive 13th century castle and well preserved town walls, this is a wonderful location for history enthusiasts. During the summer season the castle runs guided tours and special events including historic pageants. Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, is home to various important finds and makes an interesting day out. Visitors can also enjoy a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway which passes through the area's dramatic scenery, or why not arrange a fishing trip from the local harbour? With a wide selection of shops and places to eat, Caernarfon also offers close proximity to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula.
Reviews
"enjoyed the stay , every thing we needed for the stay was there.perphaps a larger house sign showing on the coming to the cottageas we passed it twice."
"We are a group of long standing friends who book an annual weekend away from it all, usually in Wales. This cottage was recommended and we were not disappointed. It's in a great location, has all the facilities required for a longer stay and the views are superb. An ideal base for walkers - we are a little bit lazy so ultimately had a great trip to fairly local LLanberis lake followed by gentle climb up one of the smaller hills overlooking the cottage. We can recommend the pub at the bottom of the hill - The Snowdon where the staff were kind enough to give us a lift back up when our taxi didn't arrive. We will definitely return, looking forward to getting on the beach this time! Thanks for a great break."
