The pretty little village of Cornhill-on-Tweed lies on the Scottish Border on the northerly edge of Northumberland, just 1.5 miles from Coldstream and 15 miles from Berwick and the coast. It's a peaceful area with breathtakingly beautiful open countryside - great for walkers and golfers - whilst the River Tweed is a huge draw for fishermen. Cornhill is a mere 30 minutes gentle drive from Northumberland's Heritage Coast, with its castles, miles of sandy beaches, wildlife and dunes.
Reviews
"Lovely comfortable clean accommodation in a quiet relaxing location. Lovely garden too. Comfy beds, cosy lounge and great kitchen table. Every thing you needed was there including wifi. No shop or pub in the village...that didn't bother us at all. Lots of interesting places to visit. Recommend the butcher in nearby Norham, definitely worth a visit and there is a lovely walk along the river there too. Would love to go back again in the New Year"
"Very comfortable holiday cottage, spacious with everything you need to self cater. All the beds were really comfortable, we loved the big kitchen with the dining table and spent hours enjoying a meal with a few glasses of wine! Garden was great for the 3 dogs, safe and enclosed. Very cosy cottage. A good base for touring, Kelso worth a visit. Berwick on Tweed not far away. You can also visit Beadnell with its beautiful beach easily. Thie only sounds at night were those made by owls, gorgeous clear starry skies. All in a relaxing week, this place would be heaven if there was a pub within walking distance and a wee shop"
"Just back from a long weekend staying in this cottage and I have to say it was excellent. The cottage is in a lovely hamlet - only houses, no shops or pub so consequently lovely and quiet. All you can hear in the cottage garden is birdsong and yet amenities aren't far away with supermarkets and local stores in Cornhill, Kelso or Berwick. The kitchen is lovely: large, with a dining table, and very well appointed with a great selection of cooking equipment. The sitting room is snug and cosy and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The downstairs bath is fabulously deep and the upstairs shower room has a great shower. The wifi is good and the garden is very pretty and secluded. Although we didn't use them, we noticed a travel cot and a high chair in the property. The Northumberland coast is lovely for seaside days out with long sandy beaches and safe bathing although you would need a car if staying at this cottage. Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this cottage to anyone who was wanting to holiday in the area."
