Reviews
"My 2 friends and I have just returned from a weekend away at this beautiful cottage. The owners Angela and Rusty were so lovely and helpful, making sure we were greeted with open arms! The cottage is in such a good location to all sorts of great days out. We rented canoes and bikes and took a trip to puzzlewood. The cottage has all the amenities you would need and was very well looked after. We were allowed to use the summer house and the garden, where we ate breakfast in the mornings. Would definitely reccommend and will return again!"
"We have just returned from a lovely week stay in this very old charming cottage (Built in 1743). The owners Angela and Rusty were lovely and very welcoming. Everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs are quite steep but there are hand rails and there is a steep step into the living room but being as old as the cottage is these things have to be expected and add character to it. It is not suitable for young children or anyone with mobility problems, due to the stairs. There is a lovely summer house but unfortunately we were unable to make use of this as the weather whilst being very nice was not up to summer temperatures! There is a Patio set as well as other chairs to use outside. We loved watching a squirrel gathering his winter feed from the Walnut Tree and the Pheasants wandering about the garden and on a clear night you could see the stars in the sky clearly as there are no street lights. It was a truly get away from it all holiday, just what we needed and would return to Little Marstow at the drop of a hat!"
"The owners are lovely people the cottage is an old building and the steps reflect that. We have stayed 5 times and love it. Very peaceful and relaxing. Always found it clean and comfortable. A great place to get away and unwind."
"Owners very welcoming. Cottage pretty and in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the cottage and appliances were needing a good clean. Not suitable for infirm, elderly or very young children. Dangerous stairs as handrail only on part of the steep stair. High step into lounge. No grab handles at the bath. Dishes had to be washed as they had bits of fluff sticking to them . Kitchen cupboards were dirty. Fusty smell throughout cottage. Very disappointed."
"Beautiful setting and lovely cottage full of charm, spiders and cobwebs! Not for arachnophobes or allergy sufferers. Owners very welcoming and friendly. Accommodation disappointing. Could have been cleaner. Bedding clean and beds comfortable. Not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are lots of steps and stairs to negotiate."
"Cottage had steep stairs and indoor steps, had to wash all jobs, plates etc. All in all not what we expected from Sykes and after complaining direct to them I notice it is still being marketed with no mention of the stairs etc. Not very good if you have walking problems would not recommend this place."
