The fishing port of Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire, with its superb coastline and close proximity to the spectacular North York Moors. Whitby is a charming and atmospheric town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a picturesque harbour, safe sandy beaches and of course the Abbey.
Reviews
"Cottage is beautifully furnished with all equipment that could be needed. There is 1 good sized main bedroom and 2 slightly smaller. We used it as a base for Whitby goth weekend it was about a 20 minute walk into town although that may be less by different routes. There were 4 adults with 2 cars one large and one medium and both were able to fit on the drive with no difficulty and we were not overcrowded. The cottage is close to a lidl and a spar and drivable distance to sainsburys. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to be close to town but not in the centre with easy access to Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and other tourist spots"
"This property has off road parking for one car with a bit of manoeuvre. No back door to property. Table for patio next to car. 3rd bedroom was a 2ft 6 ins bed without a headboard, and sloping ceiling was just a foot above head, only had room for a bedside cabinet. Could stand up with head in skylight. Very claustrophobic, and not for someone who suffers from asthma. No headboards on beds in twin room, so unable to sit up in bed due to sloping roof. Hangers for clothes at end of one bed, as there was no cupboard. Shower was a shampoo spray less than a foot above the bath taps. Near a very busy road, so if skylight window is open you will hear traffic constantly. Not 15 minutes walk to the harbour, either, was more like 30 mins. I asked Sykes to get the information changed, but they have chosen to ignore this."
"This is a great property and ideally situated near supermarket and great links to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Very well decorated and equipped. With definitely visit again."
