"Lovely little cottage. Perfect for a couple get-away. Will definitely return. Everything you could need on hand. Perfect hosts. Can't wait to see you next year "
"What a Beautiful little cottage. It has everything you could possibly need. The hosts are lovely and the location is perfect."
"We found this place rather accidentally, but what a find. Perfect location, close to all amenities, private and perfect for two. When we arrived we were greeted by a pleasant and friendly lady who showed us where we were going and gave us some information on the local area and good walking routes. Which was good as it was our first time in Settle. The property is immaculately clean, and there is everything a person can need in there to see you through very comfortably. We were only a weekend visit, but it was fantastic to see we wouldn't need to eat out every night, there was a full kitchenette with cooker. Cosy and designed for two, a small home from home, I couldn't ask for anything more. Definitely will be booking again and staying longer than a weekend next time."
"A perfect, quiet, peaceful retreat that is tucked away and just a minute's walk from the market square. This charming cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a great base in this lovely Dales town. It is fully equipped right down to an umbrella and a torch! The cobbled courtyard outside is for the sole use of the users of the cottage. It's 100% perfect in terms location, cleanliness, amenities, atmosphere and comfort. Recommended highly."
"Was rather shocked to see the negative review, I can only surmise that it has been put on by a rival holiday let or it's a case of mistaken identity. We have just returned recently from our fourth stay with Trish and Neil and can honestly say the place is absolutely perfect. My fiance and I were the first people to book this place the owners began renting it as a holiday let. I remember feeling a little apprehensive and joking with Tricia via email about being her guinea pig, but once we arrived we knew we had nothing to worry about. Place was exactly as shown and described in the Sykes website. Cosy and romantic. We had booked the perfect base for our week away. This fabulous little nook was central based and perfect for everything. Close to shops and pub for a cheeky tipple. The cottage has a private courtyard for entry, this is shared with a neighbor but had no baring on us and our privacy. We ate and had wine most evenings at the bistro table out there undisturbed by anyone or anything. The cottage itself is very lovely. Plenty of storage for our things, and very tastefully done, whilst not detracting from the original style of the cottage. Kitchen has cooker, kettle, toaster and fridge so we were able to cook meals for ourselves. Bathroom had a shower at described. I laughed at the idea of someone expecting a family bathroom in a cottage built for 2. Bedroom had a comfortable double bed and while it's against the wall which I sleep by, it's not so difficult to climb out of the bottom to get out of it. I certainly haven't ever thought about climbing over my fiance to get out of bed...maybe on my next visit? All joking aside, Trish and Neil are a lovely couple who have had us back on 3 further occasions and we have never been disappointed. Always on hand if you have a query, and have recommended us some lovely places to visit/dine. Looking forward to our next visit with Mr and Mrs Wright. "
"The first review must have been from a rival holiday-let owner because it bears no resemblance to this gem of a place. We stayed there 2 years ago when it first opened and have stayed each year. It has a fully equipped fitted kitchen with a built in cooker, fridge, microwave and everything from a wine carafe to a whisk. There's a comfortable lounge area with a TV and extra channels and a dining area with a table and chairs plus there is a unit for coats and shoes as well as other hanging space etc. The shower room has shelving and hanging space as well. The bedroom has two great views over a beautiful garden and drawers plus another cupboard and a suitcase rack. Outside there is a very picturesque courtyard that is for the sole use of the guests booking the cottage. It has a long bench, table and chairs plus sun loungers if the weather is good. There is a rotary washing line too. The quiet location is just a minute's walk to the Market Square. There are numerous restaurants, cafes and take aways. The area is good for sightseeing, walking, cycling and horseriding. The guests' comments, at the cottage, are very positive and it is clear many, like us, return."
"Description and accommodation must have been amended as we were pleasantly surprised by the apartment. The kitchen area is well equipped. We breakfasted each day and cooked a couple of dinners. There is storage for your clothing but not copious amounts. Location is perfect for exploring and eating out. Wifi is weak but sufficient for internet research. All in all, a most enjoyable stay."
"Great location in Settle in Yorkshire Dales BUT property was advertised inaccurately. 'Family bathroom' was in fact tiny shower room. 'Ample storage' was unfinished rail in bathroom and three hooks on backs of door. 'Spacious bedroom' no way to get in or out of bed except by climbing over the second person. No where to store minimal luggage. 'Very well- equipped kitchen' was fridge, kettle and toaster only. Free wi-fi - such a weak poor signal (unlike a second cottage and the area in general) re-routed thorough the owners house, 'Garden furniture for al fresco eating' was round table with long bench as seating therefore unable to get two people sat around the table to eat as the bench ended up too far away from the small round table. I could go on... We had to move after the first week and are still waiting for any comment or reply from the owners or Sykes. In summary a small cramped, poorly thought out design but it would have been perfectly acceptable if the description was accurate and honest about the size (small) and facilities (exaggerated) available and was rented on this basis."
