The small, rural village of West Lutton is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, close to Driffield. The village has one pub, but close by is the village of Weatherthorpe, which hosts a village shop, Post Office and excellent inns. Ideally located, West Lutton is just a short drive from the delightful historic market towns of Malton and Driffield, while the East coast resorts of Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough, with their long, safe, sandy beaches and seaside amenities, are also easily accessible.

"Just had a wonderful few days at this little gem of a cottage with our little dog. It has been so lovingly put together and really feels like you are staying in a dear friend's home from home. We all had a great time exploring the surrounding area and enjoying winter days on various beaches which are all within easy reach. Thank you so much Catherine Pasek . We can't wait to visit again. Love Alison , Ian and Bellamy x x "
"5 stars. We spent a splendid weekend at Clara's Cottage, in the quiet village of West Lutton, which was just what we needed to recharge. Within easy (and beautiful) drives of plenty of tourist spots such as Sledmere House, and local villages and towns such as Malton. The coast is another short drive away for a bit of surf and turf action in Filey and Whitby or Scarborough. The perfect weekend getaway - just a two hour drive from West Yorkshire - great weekend away without the long drive, with so much on the doorstep. With two double rooms the cottage itself is great for a romantic break for two or a trip for two couples, with the third single ideal for families."
"I stayed 5 days in January and any time of year at Clara's would be heaven. Grade II listed cottage, packed with charm, beautiful, tasteful, quirky decor. Fabulous master bedroom with beamed ceilings, extremely comfortable beds, bath with whirlpool option, log-burner, TV wi-fi, garden, summer house, parking outside, lovely locals. Eggs for sale opposite, local pub in the village and best of all - it's in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds where in half an hour you can either be at the coast (Bridlington, Scarborough, Filey to name a few beaches) or deep in the stunning wolds villages, or in historic York in 45 mins. Sleeps 5, wonderful place for an exhilirating break. A must for couples, families, friends and it's pet friendly (one dog or cat!)."
"Just returned from spending a weekend away in Clara's Cottage. What a dream of a place a get away from it all little cottage set in beautiful country side. Clara's has everything you would possibly need, beautiful cosy living room with log burning stove. A large fitted kitchen with every thing you need, we loved cooking in it as it was so specious. Dining room with large dining table and chairs, we enjoyed sitting round the table with the candles lit to enjoy our evening meal, such a relaxing room. The bedrooms are amazing, decorated to a high standard, the beds so comfy you didn't want to get out of them. The Jacuzzi bath was the icing on the cake. If you've not been then you're missing out."
"Beautiful cottage in lovely area with lovely walks. I spent a week here with my parents granddaughter and boxer dog. The cottage is full of charm and lovely comforts. The beds are very comfy and the whole place was clean and full of surprises. The garden was lovely for sitting in and even in late October we had sunshine to help take advantage of the garden furniture. The kitchen was large with plenty of cupboards and utensils etc. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and the biscuits were very tasty. I would definitely book again ."
"Cosy cottage full of character and charm whilst also offering space sufficient for five adults and a baby both inside and out. Large exceptionally well equipped kitchen (everything you could ever need!) made cooking family meals really easy with all involved. Lovely garden with summer house lovely for sitting outside for a drink before dinner. Would highly recommend and revisit"
"Clara cottage is a wonderful cottage. Especially when the weather is not kind (rain and gales for the majority of our stay) It is cosy and comfortable equipped with everything you would ever need. We stayed for a week only the weather could have made it perfect. The location is superb for local beaches and the landscape is breath taking. I would definitely recommend a stay here the owner is wonderful and helpful and it is nothing is a problem. We hope to return"
"Just 10 miles from Yorkshire's picturesque foodie town of Malton, West Lutton is a charming farming village within easy reach of many tourist attractions. Clara's Cottage is surprisingly spacious, far bigger than expected from the front elevation. The accommodation, over two floors, is cosy and welcoming. The cottage has been decorated to create a charming home from home with everything that you might want whether it's for a weekend stay or a full week as we took. The large kitchen provides lots of space for preparation of all the gorgeous food that can be bought in Malton's fantastic food shops (great butcher and fish shop just off the square and an amazing bakery- Yo Bakehouse, with the most exquisite brownies) or form the farm shops around the area. The Smeg fridge freezer and dishwasher complement the cottage feel of the kitchen. The cosy living room with log fire is a great place to relax after a busy day sightseeing. We used the rear bedroom and the bed was really comfy and both the bedding and White Company towels add to the luxurious touches that abound. We didn't get enough time, or the right weather, to enjoy the enclosed rear garden, but it was perfect for the dog. From the cottage there are a range of walks suitable for all abilities and lots of rabbits for the dogs to chase. Clara's is a great place to stay and I would definitely return and recommend it to friends and family."
"Cottage is so well equipped, cosy and comfortable. We contemplated kidnapping the Master bedroom bed it was so good! We arrived in snow and it was magical. Lovely walks on doorstep, with a friendly welcome and good food at local pub, The Three Tuns. Plenty to see and do nearby also, but the peace and quiet of the cottage and village are well worth staying in for! Hopefully will return-Thankyou"
"Clara's cottage was the best break away me and my partner has had, Catherine the owner of the cottage has made this beautiful place comfortable and fully equipped for everything you need, we didn't have to bring half the stuff we did, not only is the cottage lovely but the area is great for exploring and the little village has a great pub which is fog friendly and all the people in the village were so lovely and helpful and you can get fresh eggs every morning from the neighbour across the road! I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be coming back. Also my family and friends can't wait to book this place also. 5 stars to you Catherine!!"
"I cannot recommend this cosy, characterful cottage highly enough. As soon as you open the information folder you feel that you know the feisty previous owner, Clara. The cottage is very well decorated and equipped. The attention to detail is wonderful; a welcome gift of local ale and tea awaits you and even the four legged visitors are welcomed with a tin of dog treats. The kitchen has everything you could wish for including a Nespresso coffee machine which was a lovely treat. After a day out exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds it was wonderful to return to Clara's to light a real fire or enjoy a relaxing whirlpool bath. The cottage is situated in the small village of West Lutton where you really feel you can escape from 'the Treadmill.'"
"Nestled in the green folds of the Yorkshire Wolds sits this treasure of a holiday cottage. As soon as we arrived I could feel myself start to relax. The cottage has a lovely, homely ambience. It is furnished with love and a sensitive touch that is sympathetic to the age of the property. The kitchen is large, spacious and very well-equipped, containing all the kitchenware and utensils we needed, and more. The sitting room is cosy with a wood-burning stove and comfy sofas to sink into at the end of a busy day's sightseeing. The enclosed garden with summer house is a great added bonus and a pleasant place to spend an hour or two on a sunny afternoon. The cottage is very well-placed to visit the many places of interest in the surrounding area. We visited Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve (with puffins) and Scarborough which are both within easy driving distance, together with Flamborough Head and Filey. Sledmere House with its gardens and farm shop is not more than a 10 minute drive away. We enjoyed a very comfortable, relaxing week at Clara's. It was a delightful way to start our discovery of this lovely part of England. We hope to be making a return visit soon."
"We have just returned from another lovely week in Clara's cottage. It is very comfortable with a secure, dog friendly garden. There are Wold walks on the doorstep with potential rabbit and hare sightings to keep a dog very happy and just over 20 mins drive away is the beautiful coast with fabulous beaches. Perfect."
"We really enjoyed our stay at Clara's Cottage. The cottage itself was amazing, the surrounding countryside stunning and the location was ideal for a wide range of activities and sites. Fantastic."
"A truly great cottage in a pretty village in the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. Clara's Cottage is welcoming, comfortable and extremely well equipped. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back. Be sure to visit the pub and meet Eric the fox red Labrador puppy!"
"Driving off the busy roads soon the world goes quiet. Pretty scenery along winding roads. Arrive at a chocolate box village to find Clara's nestled in its heart. The cutest white cottage. Entering the cottage it's warmth, cosiness with touches of luxury seems to rush to greet. A week of walking, beach, seaside, beautiful cuountryside, pretty villages. Just perfect"
