Reviews
"What a wonderful set up nice little extras that you don't normally get. And a home made cake and best butter eggs and milk in the fridge nice touch very clean we will definitely be booking this again x"
"We have had a great stay here and would definitely come back. It is conveniently place for everything you would need and want to do but you do need a car to get around. The cottage is very nicely decorated and I could of quite easily stayed for longer. My only complaint would be that it would be nice to have a bigger bed in the main bedroom as there is plenty of room for one(but that's just a personal complaint). The hot tub was great and I could just sit outside in the lovely garden listening to the river flow all day long,It was lovely."
"Incredibly clean and well kept Home, the hot tub is well maintained. The area is quiet and relaxing, if you want a great chilled place to go, then highly recommend it. Only thing for me was the shower was a little temperamental, but that could be user issues. "
"Stayed here for a week and we loved it, even my son who is very vocal about places he stays in! Perfect in every way, very warm and cosy and like home from home. Not that everyone lives in an old train station!! Which added to the charm of this house. Dewi and carys, this place is a credit to your hard work and everything is fitted to perfection. Beds are so comfy, I always worry about it because I have an illness and if it's the wrong sort of bed I'm awake for a week! No probs here, so comfy. The hot tub was great if we could get into as my son took it over, he also took over the pool table in the signal box! Even pooch loved the place and slept every night near the back door and watched for anything that moved or flapped during the night. Very quite and sleepy place hard to imagine what it would have been like all those years ago. Could do with a guest book and also a stronger fan in the en suite as there's a lot of water that collects on the floor...this is by no way a criticism as it's definitely not a major issue but an afterthought. We love quirky places and this definitely is on my top 4 so far. Up the road is the Irish prison encampment with other history to and we love our history, go check it out its rather interesting and also there was once a distillery here to."
"So clean and everything is of a high standard. Felt so comfortable staying here. It's peaceful and quiet yet only 3 miles to Bala. Lovely walks and day trips. Hot tub easy to use and clean, and so lovely to sit at night under the stars with a drink, chilling and talking about the lovely days we had here. Had a chinese take away from New China in Bala which was first class and a lovely traditional Sunday roast at Bryntirion Inn. The owners have put a lot of thought and love into Hen Stesion which means you get a fabulous fuss free holiday. From the heating being on when we arrived, fresh flowers in the hall, to homemade Bara Brith (the best I have tasted)"
"We stayed for a week as a family of 6 and found the property to be very comfortable, warm and cosy. The beds were comfortable and there was enough space for three adults and three children. The garden looked out over fields and a river which could be heard when relaxing in the hot tub after a long day's walking. The children also loved the quirky signal box games room with a mini pool table in."
"Had a lovely stay in this converted railway station. It was great to see a book to see what the actual station looked like before it closed in the 60's. You do need a car to stay in this village, as there is nothing in walking distance apart from a friendly cafe about a minute walk away. The whole cottage was clean and had a lovely modern kitchen with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher and two nice clean bathrooms, one with shower and one with a bath and shower head. I liked the good quality bedding, towels and cookware and not all rentals provide fresh flowers, eggs, milk, butter and the best thing...homemade Bara Brith on arrival! One other thing has to be mentioned - the hot tub. It was an absolute pleasure, and it was nice to bump into the owner who showed us how to use it. We enjoyed our stay in Wales, and having nice accommodation adds to the pleasure."
"This former railway station has been lovingly converted into a great family rental house. The large, secure garden is perfect for sunny evenings although sadly, there is no BBQ. There is a hot tub however, and the former signal box now houses a mini pool table. You can even bring your dog with you. The house comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 children although the third bunk bedroom is cosy. The house itself is well appointed with good internet access and facilities. The living area is compact but we had a great holiday here despite the rain! The white water centre is just down the road and Coed-y-Brenin mountain biking centre is a 30min drive away. There is a cafe 200m away and Bala, with all its facilities and amenities is a mere 5 minute drive away. A great little holiday home that we would happily return to."
