Loftus is 14 miles north of Whitby the coast of East Yorkshire. It boasts terraced houses, old stone cottages and grand stone dwellings. The main street has shops, restaurants, pubs, and a town hall. Behind the main street is a leisure centre with a swimming pool. Loftus is well placed for visiting the villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes, Staithes being a popular choice for artists. Four miles to the north is Saltburn with a golf club and pier. The stunning North Yorkshire Moors countryside is on the doorstep and the Jurassic fossil coast lies to the south.
