Bideford is an historic maritime town on the River Torridge in North Devon. It is a thriving town with a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, a park and the Atlantic Village Outlet Shopping Centre located on the outskirts of the town. Bideford is in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area. It is just a few miles from Westward Ho!, which is dominated by two miles of spectacular coastline and retains the prestigious Blue Flag award year upon year. Its sandy beach, attracts visitors from all over the country and offers fantastic bathing and watersport activities. Just beyond the pebble ridge is Northam Burrows Country Park, which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has 253 hectares of grassy coastal plain with salt marsh, sand dunes and grasslands. The South West Coastal Path and the famous traffic-free Tarka Trail are close by, providing magnificent walking and cycling opportunities. The delightful quayside village of Appledore and the pretty beach at Instow are both just over three miles away, whilst the market town of Barnstaple is just ten miles away, and the fishing village of Clovelly, with its quaint cobbled streets, is eleven miles away. The North Devon coast also boasts outstanding beaches, many within easy reach, including those found at Instow, Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe and Bude. This is an area of breathtaking beauty, with plenty to see and do for all ages.
Reviews
"Having spent a lovely week in this cottage we have already booked for next year! The cottage is situated out of town giving beautiful views and surroundings, but only a few miles away is the local village with pub, convenience store and Fish and Chip shop and nearest beach only 4 miles away. The cottage itself is well equipped, spacious and beautifully furnished to give a real Devon Cottage feel. Hugo, our dog loved running round the garden and going on walks to the ponds just the other side of the garden."
"We have had the pleasure of holidaying in Cedar Cottage twice now, firstly for a long weekend and then, enjoying it so much, for a week later in the year. The facilities and the equipment supplied is first class, making for a relaxed stress-free break. The rural location is both peaceful and relaxing, with delightful walks in the large grounds. Plus the sunsets are fabulous ! I can highly recommend this cottage."
"Needed a weekend break with my friend and our daughters and couldn't have wished for a more idyllic cottage. The interior of the cottage is beautiful with all you could need for a holiday. The spiral staircase is quirky and adds to the beauty of the cottage. Even with four adults there was plenty of space for us all. As expected the weather in November was not brilliant but we managed some lovely walks around the cottage and a windy day in Bude. Then back to our lovely retreat for food, wine and board games. What a lovely way to spend our weekend and no WIFI meant plenty of conversation. Will definitely be going back soon. LOVELY."
"The cottage is set amongst several others in a lovely quiet location - but only 4 miles to the sea and a village nearby for a local shop and a chip shop. Cedar cottage is lovely, airy and nicely presented and a super relaxing place to chill out for a week. A cream tea was left for our arrival and all the facilities were spot on. I would definitely book again as all of my family loved the cottage."
