Reviews
"The house has a lovely feel and has been tastefully appointed. Lots of space and period features. The village is welcoming, pretty and has a nice shop, village shop, play area etc. The wooded walk to the beach at Mawgan Porth is around 45 minutes and is lovely. So many fabulous places to visit and walk. We loved our week and would come back. The only (small) criticism is that the owners seem to have ignored the many comments in the Guest Book asking for a hairdryer and to get the window latches/locks fixed. Both these things could be rectified easily but are irritating to a guest (especially one with teenagers who want to dry their hair!) For reference, the road outside is not busy and feels safe. Parking is easy. At 7-8am the noise of sporadic cars going past can be heard very clearly in the front bedrooms so I recommend you shut the windows. The loos are downstairs so this might not suit elderly family members."
"We had a wonderful time in The Old Post Office. The cottage is beautifully presented with character, good size rooms, an entire annex for the third bedroom (our eldest loved it) and a private enclosed garden. 1 minute walk away from the beautiful village of St Mawgan with a great friendly pub, village shop, playground etc. Pretty and quiet walk to Mawgan Porth. Very convenient for Newquay airport. We were there late March - early April so weather was mixed. So we spent some time on the lovely beaches nearby and some exploring Cornwall. Everything within an hour's drive."
"We loved our stay at the Old Post Office. The beds are fantastic and the sheets and bedding were on a par with a luxury hotel. The place is full of character and easily house 6 of us in three large double rooms. The size of the rooms gave us all our own space. The third bedroom has its own staircase and felt very private. The woodburner in the central lounge was lovely to sit around on a cooler day. We also managed to use the BBQ in the garden on a warmer evening. We really enjoyed visiting the pub down the road and popping to the local shop for breakfast supplied the next morning. As it only 5 minutes from Newquay airport it was super easy to get to. We hired a car and parked opposite the house which meant we had the choice to drive to Watergate Bay for lunch or could walk 40 minutes to Mawgan Porth to the beach. The owner had left lots of details of things to do and the kitchen was fully kitted out with coffee machine, lots of glassware and crockery. It definitely felt like a home from home and I would visit again."
