Wells is named after the springs in the grounds of its Bishop's Palace with its moat. Adjacent is the 12th century cathedral within an attractive green. Close by, Vicars Close is home to a medieval street, and the market square offers shops, boutiques and restaurants, and a bi-weekly market. The surrounding AONB provides a footpaths and landscapes, a centre for caving and rock climbing. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves offer days out. Glastonbury is also an easy journey, this city makes an ideal touring base. With much to see and do, there is something to keep everyone entertained!
