Grampound is a pretty village situated on the edge of the Roseland Peninsula, a designated part of Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Approximately equidistant to the cathedral city of Truro and the old market town of St Austell, it is an excellent location for exploring the Cornish Riviera with its beautiful landscape and coastal scenery. You will find a country pub, restaurant and general stores in the village centre. The long tract of sandy beach at Porthpean and Pentewen are within easy reach and the charming fishing village of Mevagissey and historic port of Charlestown are also well worth a visit. The infamous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within a short drive and for a more active break, there is Pentewen Cycle Trail and Porthpean Golf Course. A visit to the exclusive waterfront village of St Mawes and the harbor town of Fowey with their excellent range of pubs and foodie restaurants are highly recommended.
Reviews
"Myself and my husband booked a last minute escape to the Snug in August and what a lovely stay it was, Clare and Dean have thought of everything you could need, we arrived to an extensive welcome hamper full of lovely treats and items such as bread. milk and eggs in the fridge and even wine and home made scones! The amenities are to the highest standard and so is the decor, the owners have really put some effort into the place making it cosy but stylish. the bed was super comfy and it was great having the patio doors open in the mornings looking out onto the fields. The location is perfect for exploring Cornwall and Clare and Dean have lots of great advice on where to go and good restaurants. We also had the pleasure of having a fire pit evening in the owners garden, this really was special and something i would recommend to anyone staying at the snug, Will definitely be booking again!"
"We had an absolutely perfect stay at the Tremethick Snug at Easter earlier this year (2018). We stayed for a week and loved every minute. Clare and Dean were so kind and welcoming, with a lovely hamper of goodies which was much appreciated after our 8 hour journey from Cambridgeshire. We even had some Easter treats left and fresh scones brought round. The Snug is finished to an exceptional standard (I found myself stealing ideas for our own home!) and was so comfortable, with everything you could need - including a lovely retro scrabble set which we enjoyed. My partner, John, is getting quite into his home brew and when we discovered that Dean has a micro-brewery on site John was itching for a look around, which was offered and delivered (he's taken some ideas hone too!). Grampound itself is lovely, we visited the local pub and went to a craft market at the village hall. It's also an ideal location for attractions nearby if you have a car - we visited The Lost Gardens of Heligan (a must see!) and The Eden Progect as well as various nearby towns, beaches and country pubs. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come here again. Not a single complaint."
