There are shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants as well as antique shops and a weekly market The walking and scenery of the National Park are close by, as are villages including Hutton-le-Hole and Lastingham.

"Comfortable cottage on a working farm in a rural setting. Owners are to hand and very friendly and helpful. Lovely walk on the farmland along a part of the River Dove- we saw a hare and a deer. At night we could hear an owl calling and the stars were so bright. Very relaxing and dog friendly, our border collie loved it. The owners are happy to advise on local walks and dog friendly places."
