Reviews
"The pictures Skyes have on their website have obviously been taken a long time ago... The kitchen work surfaces are in need of sanding down and resurfacing, one of the ovens the internal light did not work and they both could do with having a service / maintenance undertaken. Fridge light did not work (easy thing to change a bulb). Light fittings over the table have not been cleaned or dusted in years! Table itself lots of chips in the laminate and no placements whatsoever provided! Kitchen in much need of a proper deep clean! On to the main bathroom, the first time I have ever had to clean the bath and sink before they could be used! The tower Tap and Hand Held Shower needs properly fixing - sways side to side when in use! Sitting Room - needs a thorough dusting and hovering. The wood burner is long overdue for an overall maintenance. Undertaking some decoration would not go unmissed.... The only plus side was the cottage was warm. Whoever undertakes the cleaning of the property are not doing their job properly. Sadly just not being clean detracts badly from what could be a very nice cottage to rent. Very disappointed especially when you are staying there over the Christmas period. I personally think Sykes should undertake yearly inspections of the lettings to ensure they meet the standards expected by paying guests. I could go on and on but quite frankly I think I have said enough!"
"Shower tray overflows. Water leak around the shower unit & behind sink. Floor constantly wet. Old drainage problem reported by many. Bath fixtures not fixed! Waterfall tap sprays water at opposite wall! Flashing ceiling lights. Electrics trip when toaster is used. Top surfaces, floors, lampshades, cupboards - dust/cobwebs. Shabby back garden. Not good value in its current state. Pity. Could be really lovely as we are sure it was when first renovated (when photos were taken - presumably)."
