Reviews
"Just returned from Smugglers Cove and can honestly say it was worth the 6 hour travelling. Amroth itself is stunning, and Smugglers Cove is the ideal place to stay. The apartment was very spacious for 6 people, and the kitchen area very well equipped. The welcome basket was a perfect touch on arrival, with treats for all the party including the dog. My children loved the games room, and the adults enjoyed the peace sitting in the patio area (it does say this is a shared area but we didn't see anyone). The area it's self is wonderful, and can highly recommend the Amroth Arms and Smugglers Bar and Grill for food. Folly Farm is definitely worth a visit. Was wonderfully shocked how nice this Welsh area was and how kind the people were. Stephanie and Wayne were wonderful hosts and would book with them again."
"Booked this place from 29/12/2019 to 5/1/2019 for a week. On arrival there was a wet dog smell as soon as you opened the front door, which stayed all week. Nice welcome basket and Christmas tree. The stairs up to the third bedroom and play room were straight up, had to come down backwards, very dangerous for children and adults, I know it said steep stairs but these are like climbing a mountain without the safety equipment. Found mould on the shower, which had to clean off before use. Rubbish under the bed in the twin room. The patio is very dangerous when wet, as I found out on arrival when I slipped over and hurt my ankle. It needs a jet wash as the slabs are black and the loose slabs fixing. Also not a lot of space in the kitchen for eating and cooking for 5 people, needs more equipment etc. The noise from the pub downstairs is bad until they close, also noise from neighbours next door."
"Decided to book a short getaway between Christmas and New Year. There are 5 of us so this place was perfect and the rooms are nice and spacious so we didn't feel like we had been squeezed into the property (which is sometimes the feeling with the 5 of us and the dog). There was plenty of wardrobe space in each the rooms and everyone had their own TV, this is will be great when we go back for a weeks break. It was a really cosy when we arrived, heating was on so we wasn't cold, Christmas tree lights on and the little flame light on the fire - really welcoming. Speaking of welcoming. the welcome pack was just what we needed, tea, coffee etc, mince pies (yum) dog treats for the boss and a bottle of wine (for me). Place is as its described, 2 beds down and one up, 2 bathrooms (amazing!!!) table and chairs outside (too cold for us to use). The steps up to the property were not an issue for us, including my elderly mum. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and had toilet roll, kitchen roll, fairy liquid etc, which I found you don't get in some self caterings (usually holiday in UK due to dog and mum). The location of the property is perfect, literally the beach is across the road, we tired the dog out on the beach. We also went to the pub down stairs, which was great as we could take the dog. Also couldn't fault the food in the Smugglers Bar below. My little one loved the pirate ship at the back, staff very welcoming. Even though it was winter we were lucky that it wasn't too cold this year so went for a walk across the beach front. Few yards down the road and there were cafes and shops (one shop was closed but the helpful locals explained it was just because of the time of year, but we have been advised that they sell all the basics as I am bound to forget something when we go back) there were more pubs along the way but unfortunately we didn't get chance to explore. Stunning big Christmas Tree outside one. Well to summarise, a clean, comfortable, spacious apartment, in a stunning dog friendly seaside village. Couldn't have asked for more."
"Stayed here for a week in September. This is a very well positioned apartment in AMROTH with car parking. The apartment is up a flight of about 16 stone steps with a shared forecourt. The apartment is immaculately clean and wants for nothing. A nice little welcome pack and a bottle of wine was waiting for us on our arrival. Good quality furnishings and linen throughout, plus televisions in bedrooms and the games room in the attic which also had its own en suite. A lovely touch was the nautical theme throughout. This is a quality place to stay and the owners were very friendly. I have no problem in recommending Smugglers Cove for a comfortable stay. Just be aware there are steps to this property."
"Having spent a 3 day break with our 2 children and dog our choice here was rewarded. On arrival we found a complimentary basket with everything needed for a cuppa that even included some treats for our dog.. Nice touch! Apartment was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated being furnished with modern equipment throughout. Lounge was comfortably spacious with leather sofas and modern fireplace, each bedroom had a large flatscreen TV. Upstairs housed a further bedroom, second shower area and playroom with wii console and plenty of games to keep the kids happy. Kitchen was fully fitted with everything we could possibly need. The whole experience has obviously been thought out from a renters point of view which for me is a winner. Location is under 100yds waking distance from the beach yet secluded enough for relaxation when needed. Plenty of eating spots and shops to walk around, with nearly all being dog friendly, including the right side of the beach. There was a reserved spot for parking to the rear of the property so we had no concern over the car. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break at Smugglers Cove, everything about the apartment and location made our stay a memorable one! We hope to return again. "
"Lovely smart comfortable apartment. Large rooms. Suitable for families or couples. Convenient locaton, less than 100 yards from long sandy beach and shops."
