The seaside town of Whitby lies in North Yorkshire, on the East cliff, overlooking the North Sea. It is a charming location, filled with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. You will also find Whitby Abbey, which is said to have given Bram Stoker inspiration for Dracula. There is also a sandy beach with a charming pier, where you can eat your fish and chips or play in the arcades.
Reviews
"What a beautiful house and in the most amazing location. Close to all amenities, the sea practically on your doorstep and so comfortable! The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome and made sure we had everything to get settled in and for a nice brew! The house is beautifully furnished and in excellent taste. We will definitely be back! Ps, please don't be put off by the negative review - honestly I think they must have been to a different house to the one we went to as it sounds nothing like the Delaunay we visited."
"The property in general, in no way reflects the description and photos as shown in your website, the overall appearance of the house, quality of the furniture and soft furnishings are shabby and in a state of disrepair. Most troubling are the extremely unhygienic conditions that we found the property in. As detailed in the attached photos, the property is not only incredibly dirty and obviously has not been cleaned prior to arrival but some of the things we've witnessed are actually unsanitary and as a group that comprises some elderly members and small children this isn't just an inconvenience but is highly troubling from a health perspective. To elaborate on some of the particular issues: None of the bedding had been cleaned prior to our arrival and all of the beds had been slept in as was made obvious by our discoveries. Hair was found in the beds Saliva stains on several of the pillows The bedding smelled dirty There was human faeces on one of the toilets There was a dangerous amount of mold in the tray of the washing machine and the machine itself was incredibly dirty All surfaces were dusty and the kitchen surfaces were dirty Plug fittings had visible signs of food debris and stainings there was a water jug left in the fridge that was filled with mold spores and as it was left in the fridge we have to assume that the fridge itself is unsanitary In the food cupboards there was oil spilled and food residue left, which means we are having to store our own food in cool bags outside of the main cupboards None of the bathrooms had been cleaned there was mold around the shower trays. The bathroom situated on the top floor smelled of urine. All of the windows are dirty you can hardly see out of them. There is only one suitable shower as the ground floor has no privacy as the door to the room is see through, and the 1st floor bathroom does not heat up."
