Porthmadog is a harbour town resting on the Glaslyn Estuary and is known at the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Within the town you will find a superb selection of individual shops and restaurants and the Ffestiniog Railway, where you can travel through Snowdonia scenery to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Within the surrounding area you will find the castles at Criccieth and Harlech and the village of Portmeirion.
