On the doorstep of the sea and Chesil Beach, and between Burton Bradstock and Abbotsbury, is the small village of West Bexington. This is a stunning area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as an area of Special Scientific Interest - pebbled Chesil Beach, which extends for 14 miles, from Burton Bradstock to the Portland peninsula, is part of the Jurassic Coast and now a World Heritage Site. Fishermen and walkers are well provided for, as a great variety of fish can be caught at any time of year, and the South West Coastal Path runs right alongside the beach. Only confident swimmers should attept to swim here, but Weymouth beach with golden sands and shallow waters, offers a lovely beach option, is only a short drive away. There's lots to see and do within easy reach of the village. No journey to this area would be complete without a visit to picturesque Abbotsbury, 3 miles, with its Swannery, Tithe Barn and Sub Tropical Gardens, with Dorchester, Bridport, and Lyme Regis all within easy reach.
Reviews
"What a lovely location. Overlooking the bay the cottage has an elevated view over the coast. Quiet, peaceful, a nice place to sit and chill. Though we toured the coastal villages and towns it's nice to return to peace and quiet. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Nice to stop for a chat. You can spend your time watching the wildlife visiting the garden. Some stunning scenery. Either coastal views or inland. Pretty villages, friendly people."
"This is a terrific property tucked away in its own extensive grounds/garden.West Bexington village centre is a 5 minute walk away, here is The Manor pub /restaurant serving good food at sensible prices, plus real ales and a great draught cider! A further 5 minute walk from here will take you down to the shingle beach with beach bar and restaurant. The beach really isnt that good for swimmiing as there is often a lot of beach fishing going on and the beach shelves quite steeply into the sea.Back to the cottage itself,it was spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is however no shop in West Bexington, the nearest convenience store is a a couple of miles away in Burton Bradstock. The nearest supermarket is a further couple of miles along the coast in Bridport."
